Lower level P5 team would be $50 and a higher level P5 team would be seventy five to hundred dollars.

These would be baseline prices and a premium would be added if say we were undefeated
What does this solve? Scheduling good OOC is done years in advance, and UL has little choice in the selection of willing participants. UL works hard on the money games, tries to work to get the best non money opponents, and pretty much gets shunned by everyone else. How is ticket pricing going to change those facts? UL can't give away tickets to add another 1000 people. Any idea of manipulating the core fans in a slump period in the program simply will not work.

I can't disagree that seating expansion is now a joke, but besides a press box/suite investment (that has little to nothing to do with attracting fans) I don't know what amenities and features can feasibly be added to Cajun Field. I'm not talking about ideas. I'm talking about the practicality of engineering it into the old structure.

I'm massively opposed to yelling at "the fans". It's stupid in 40 different ways... but at the first rudimentary level... it's counterproductive. People have a broad assortment of reasons for going or not going to UL football games. Personally, I see only one way to restore attendance. The program has to elevate to a level that the program has never seen. You can talk about the fans until you're blue in the face... but we could not afford what happened with the ACT scandal on top of a hit to the Acadiana economy. Hud hit his peak in year one. Not using the juice gained from that first year to pack on some additional fan excitement, then having the cheating and NCAA hits, the recruiting slam that followed, cannot be brushed aside. We're in a slump. There's only one way to climb back up... and it doesn't include yelling at the fans.
You and I have discussed this personally many times. My entire life, I’ve sided with your line of thinking on this.

Yesterday was the first time I was geneuinely upset with what I saw. Sometimes, people need to know they suck.

Unfortunately there are many reasons for poor attendance....LSU playing in Baton Rouge on national tv against number 2 in the country at almost the same time hurts. Playing poor teams, crappy conference and a stadium that is in dire need of upgrades....just to name a few

Cajun fans should attend Cajun sporting events. What happens across the basin should be irrelevant. Period. There was never a single moment where I thought about what was going on in BR, and it never caused me to question my attendance to our HC event.

Guys like Damon Mason gave his soul to this football program and to me as a fan, the LEAST I could do was show up to tip my hat.

Guys like Scott Dohman spilled his guts for our baseball program and is a big reason why we are where we are today. The LEAST I could do was show up to stand and applaud. To say thanks.

We have a real admin making REAL moves. We have a real football coach, with a real staff, making REAL changes. The LEAST we could do, is show the ___k up.

If LSU is even a thought in your mind when deciding on attending Cajun sporting events, you’re not a Cajun supporter. Stop lying to yourself.

In principle I agree with you So you and I are probably in agreement regarding the situation.

But on this board we hear that we should be scheduling Southern Miss and Louisiana Tech and Houston and Memphis.

But they won't play home and home. So maybe we need to sweeten the pot

Home and home should be a zero sum situation. But we might have to put out a couple hundred thousand dollars to get Southern Miss to come here.

So where does that money come from?

I don't think any of those you reached on here think "I suck" today. I understand your aggravation, but the fact is still the fact. You do not accomplish anything by bashing the unparticipating fan. They reciprocate with additional rejection. They do not respond positively.

Many times when I'm undressing in front of a large contingent of adoring women... I don't like the fact too few pass out from over excitement. But I've found over the years that although I believe they are my flock, my harem, my personal audience... and that I alone satisfy all of their desires... I simply cannot do what I did in the past... and tell them how worthless and ugly they are. That's just my own emotions reacting in the moment. Later, when I add that human pretzel routine back into my show... I'll get back my passed out ladies. But until I do... I have to accept that a few thousand of them... although still lusting me violently... won't necessarily have the convulsions like they used to. Just feel comforted MAT... the day of massive women having uncontrollable convulsions is coming. You just have to keep up the best show you have today, ever improving on it, and believe me... they will convulse.

I think yesterday showed that what you consider "Cajun supporters" aren't very many in numbers. Those die-hards were who you saw yesterday. They DID show up. The problem is, at this point in time, there just aren't enough of them to fill the stadium.

And I’ll stand shoulder to shoulder with Matt on this

Whether it’s Athletics or the nursing program or the engineering program or the computer science program, this is an investment in the community.

It hurts my heart that we literally have kids coming here from across the world to even play football for us and we can’t generate a half full stadium.

And there it is. It’s all about the greater good of Lafayette, health of our academics & athletics at OUR University, and preservation of our culture.

I think we've decided that we aren't going to beg or pay other G5 programs to do home and homes. I would not agree to paying them. My gut tells me Maggard and Napier will find a way to schedule solid G5 schools in home and homes in the future. I also don't relish the idea of scheduling them and taking a beat down in Cajun Field. If we get our program back on the march, a lot of things we're worried about will fall in place.

If Nape can fill the defensive gaps with some talented players this signing class, coupled with our offense, this program can be scary-good quickly. The scheduling problems can't be fixed overnight, but if we field a team with an exciting offense and a much-improved defense next year, I think a lot of these problems with attendance and excitment will take care of themselves.

Next year we need to see the Belt Championship game played at Cajun Field. Yeah, I know that's a tall order, but a guy can dream, can't he?

About a year ago to the day yesterday, after one of my surgeries I walked into Cajun Field and cried because I hadn’t seen uncorrected that well in almost 40 years

Yesterday due to a complication from that surgery I could barely see the field. As a matter of fact I almost took out two deputies walking up one of the ramps. Because I couldn’t see them

So yeah, I get pretty ____ed when I hear about lack of competition, lack of quality of play, the rain, festivals, LSU, anger over not getting Beyond 9-4 seasons, anger over not getting beyond a New Orleans bowl,

I had PRK this week and Its been a slight pain in the ___. Nothing like that though
