We’re not as terrible as we thought. The D was fantastic in the 1st half. Exposed on the second. Could be attributed to team with a 28 point win feeling a bit comfortable.
We were going to win Sun Belt games on the strength of our running backs. This was one of those games. We are truly blessed with 3 great RBs.
Good representation of Cajun fans at game tonight. Glad to go home with the win.
Definitely a tale of 2 halves. Team looked very good in first half ( minus the lame throw away int!). I couldn’t understand why Tx State wasn’t having better success throwing against us. Looks like they figured that out in 2nd half. Fortunately our ground game was on point most of the night. Was also good to see Levi have some success, and he definitely gave us a spark in 3rd qtr.
There were no surprises tonight. We are going to have to outscore teams in the Sun Belt to win. Our defense is not talented enough to stop anyone still on our schedule. At least on a consistent basis. I will hold out hope that they improve over time, but even if they do I don’t think the talent upside is very high.
That's why Napier is getting him playing time. We'll see him continue to improve. I know some fans don't like it, and I don't always agree with when he decides to give him a series, but he's giving him seasoning facing live bullets without the pressure of being the full-time starter so that he's not a deer in the headlights when he'll possibly be the guy. I know the old adage is "if you have two quarterbacks, you have no quarterbacks," but our situation isn't that there's some kind of controversy or Napier can't make a decision. I like the long-term thinking.
Please explain what you mean by long term
