Thread: New redshirt rule doesn't figure to affect Ragin' Cajuns

  1. UL Football New redshirt rule doesn't figure to affect Ragin' Cajuns

Louisiana has reached the benchmark for the new rule that allows players to participate in four contests and still take a redshirt season that does not count against their four years of eligibility.

Saturday's Sun Belt Conference game at Texas State is Louisiana's fifth game. The Ragin' Cajuns (1-3) have more than a dozen players — including eight true freshmen — who have a redshirt year available and have participated in all four games this season. But Cajuns coach Billy Napier said it’s a non-issue for his team.

Eight true freshman are playing according to this article. We also have some JUCO guys and tranfers contributing. That tells me our recruiting year was not as terrible as some made it out to be last February. Keep in mind that recruiting results are not based upon how people play in their first year. We will have those eight guys four more years and you have to believe they will be much improved next season.

It's a shame that Dan still calls us UL Lafayette.

It’s a shame that some people still think it’s Dan that actually puts it in Advocate articles.

It's a shame you can't trust if the words are from Dan or someone else.

You haven't been paying attention...its the sports editor at the advocate who does that, not Dan...

If your name is showing that you are the article's author, than bite the bullet........If it's not him than put out a statement clarifying that it's not him and the reason why ULL or UL Lafayette is printed. You can do it on RP. We will get the message. We have read from several that will say that it not Dan's doing. But let him say it and not some third parties.......

Maybe he wants to also keep getting paid writing articles for The Advocate, and if he goes out publicly starting some ____storm, that might end.

The Advocate will never allow us to be called Louisiana. It is what it is.

They would probably give you a $5 rebate and change it anyhow.
