We might be two and two having beaten Coastal Carolina with Hud. We didn’t compete against Miss State. Alabama game was a farce. Fans dissecting minutiae for meaning from that abomination are embarrassing. Our current players have more talent and ability than recognized on this site. Hope successful coaching will reveal that. Not impressed yet.
Winners don’t embarrass themselves wasting their time. Alabama game was a farce. Backs ran hard especially Ragas. Good job by DB to break up Jalen Hurts pass near goal line. Otherwise a meaningless farce. I’ll acknowledge results. Napier himself acknowledges poor coaching in loss to Coastal Carolina. Pride and honor are earned. That hasn’t been done, yet. Just calling for the brainwashed Napier dirkriders to restrain themselves a little.
Seeing the way Hud coached against the likes of Southeastern and a 1-9 Georgia Southern team last year, I highly doubt he would’ve beaten Coastal with his as coach. With that said, Napier is going to have to recruit his way out of this mess. Our defense is depleted outside of a few new transfers.
My greater point simply was that at this point in time Napier’s results on the field haven’t lived up to expectations. With an eye to the future recruiting is going great. He’ll only further help himself with recruiting if coaching gets us a win or two we wouldn’t have otherwise had this year. Even Napier himself looks back on Coastal Carolina as one he should have won. His words, you’re only guaranteed 12 games in a season. One win squandered. I don’t harbor the same vitriol many on here have for Hud. I think overall UL football is undoubtedly in a better place for his time here. But I do agree he had run his course here. I think coach Napier was an excellent hire, like what I’ve seen on the periphery but with the small body of on field results I’m underwhelmed. Hope it changes. The sooner the better.
