Interesting that the article talked about how coaches were not liking it but in reality they were really talking about P5 coaches.

This will happen at every level including UL but it will have the most effect (imo) on the P5. You have tons of kids who dream of playing for x,y,z and then they get an offer not realizing that they will be the "backup" for their entire career or as was mentioned in this article the next class coming in has someone just a little better than you are.

The G5 schools will lose some players but most of the time those kids are moving to FCS anyway so it doesn't matter. I can see a lot of P5 second stringers deciding they would rather play football than watch it from the sideline. This might be the one thing that actually has a chance to balance the playing field a little more.
