Then they have parents weekend and too busy doing stuff with them to go to the game. Homecoming they pull up all nighters drinking and making their floats for the parade to even make it into the stadium. Take your pick, it's never been about the game itself....
How is that beer tent thing going on the student side?
It seems like a cool idea and in theory should help keep students from leaving at half to drink and/ or watch other games on tv. The tent itself has other games on TV right?

Great idea. 5/10 execution. There's supposed to be a dj and stuff going on but literally nothing is. I guess I dont go in early enough to hear the dj But it is really nice to only spend $5 get a burger and a beer and not have to wait in a long line and pay more.

I know these are bigger schools, but here are some of the tailgating prices (excluding RV parking and upscale/catered options) which I found:

Ole Miss: Free, all tailgating spots at Ole Miss are first come

    Auburn: Free, first-come, first-served.

    LSU: Free, first come, first-served.

Texas: $300 per season or $55 per game

I've have consistently told people, including Harris and a few others that Lafayette is not your market, the Sun Belt Conference is today. If we are going to continue to raise prices for tailgating, parking, club memberships and seating, supporters will eventually not see the value in the cost and the product on the fields and courts.

I'm okay with this years increases, but if the quality of athletics doesn't match the cost, eventually I will down size on what I pay for when it comes to seats, parking and donations. You can't continue to increase the cost every year for your supporters and the value of the product does excite them or motivate them to pay it.
Right, we had the same discussion with baseball. The difference is that baseball actually sold out all their spots. With baseball, the increase was justified because demand was there.

And while they were increasing prices for premium seats, they still kept cheaper options for people on a budget who want to support the team. It was still cheap and easy for a family of four to buy tickets, park relatively close, and have a pleasant experience.

To the administration reading this thread...for those complaining about costs increase...there are those like me that went from coaches’ staff to all cajun rcaf levels...we understand the changing landscape of d1 athletics and what’s required to be successful...not all of us want to be like ULM...with that said...I’m giving you guys the benefit of the doubt as a relatively new staff and trusting the right decisions will be made which will lead to progress...if things don’t improve in the years to come...I will just go back down to my no expectations and $250 giving just to get a parking pass...

So who is a better fan:

A fan who is a member of RCAF, buys season tickets, buys a parking pass, but didn't make it to the game (for whatever reason)

....or a fan who was given a free ticket (most likely from a season ticket holder) and attends the game?

And what does one win for being a “better fan”? Sounds like these 2 people probably have very different financial situations.

i normally try to get my extra tickets to somebody who usually can’t swing the cost to take the family or they really appreciate the free tickets.

It's funny that this thread was even started. Do we even need to go into this? I have no doubt that Napier will turn this around but never did I think in the first year. But I also still believe no matter what, we are who we are as far as a fan base. Our ceiling is 20K unless we move to another conference or bring in better OOC teams point blank!

I never stated this was an easy solution, only that this is the only sure way to fill the stadium. But it was very obvious you didn't read the entire thread. See #2.

    2. Play those same big schools at their place and beat them. If we beat MSU and AL, then it wouldn't matter if we played Comeaux HS, the stands would be full to see the team that beat the AL's, Michigan's, LaSU's...

I promise you, in fact, I would bet my next 5 paychecks on it, if we beat Alabama, then no matter who we play at home the next game, we will have the stadium filled to capacity. If we had beat MSU, then the rain would not have mattered, the stadium would have been filled.

But if you know a better way to get our stadium filled, then by all means, quit being sarcastic and tell us.

And with ALL that being said...

When you start winning, none of it matters.
