Thread: Napier points to coaching after loss to Coastal Carolina

  1. UL Football Napier points to coaching after loss to Coastal Carolina

It was his first loss at Cajun Field, his first loss to a Sun Belt Conference opponent.

So first-year UL head coach Billy Napier was hard on himself and his new Ragin’ Cajuns coaching staff Saturday night, pointing inward after a 30-28 to 3-1 Coastal Carolina in the SBC opener for both teams.

“I think there’s lots of missed opportunities in that football game,” Napier said after UL rallied from 16 points down to make it tight before Coastal was able to run out the clock in the final five-plus minutes.

There were many many moments that can be pointed to throughout the game and assigned blame for the loss.

For me, the step out of bounds incomplete bobbled pass to the TE at the end of the first half that would have established field goal distance was huge.

    10 point swing.

For me, the coaches must have a feel for the game.

A feel for the game at hand is 100 times more important than any preplanned concepts they came up with during the behind the desk pencil pushing portion of the week.

That "ULL Football" text originates in the "hard coded" (though easily redoable) title portion of the web html file.

Nothing the writer can do to change that, but can be easily required permanent change by the editor.
