When UL had a bye week earlier this month, the Ragin’ Cajuns set aside some extra time to prepare not for their next game — which wound up being a 56-10 loss at then-No. 16 Mississippi State — but instead the one that arrives Saturday night.
That’s because Coastal Carolina’s funky spread-option offense presents challenges most opponents do not, and with it being the Sun Belt Conference opener for both teams, Cajuns coach Billy Napier wanted his defense to be as prepared as it possibly could.
