You spent the last 2 season telling everyone how terrible our talent level is. Now we get a new coach who didn't even have a full recruiting cycle, isn't performing up to the "almighty bj's" standards with those some players you talked ___ on and you are surprised? 3 games in..let the man do his job. If we don't get better as the season goes there may because for concern but at this point he has beaten an FCS, lost to an SEC and list by 2 to a conference team who is 3-1. Yet you somehow have turned negative on the guy already. Again, try not being so miserable all the time. You think
You are better than people from pecan island or something?
Anyone that disagrees with me? No, just you! Look at your last post, you being you. A complete imbecile. Seriously, where did someone touch me? Are you in to child porn? You've taken this discussion way off the rails into your world. Are you a complete village idiot, or just enjoy playing the role?

I've already explained to you why I'm disappointed, one too many times. Either you have a comprehension problem, or you are a complete jackazz! In either case there is no need to discuss it any longer with you. And for the record, I don't think I'm better than anyone from Pecan Island, just you!

Because you apparently have a complex about those people that enjoy themselves dancing like a rooster bc you use it all the time as some kind of insult, so who is the imbecile? You seem really insecure to attack others who are enjoying themselves at a tailgate, which is kind of the point of tailgating. What do you do at your spot? You apparently think you are somehow better than others. You have spent a month talking about how Nunez is not a D1 QB, but that somehow is now on the coach who didn’t recruit him. When Napier turns this around you are gonna be the first one saying “i told y’all he was the guy” You aren’t venting, you’re whining.

Hark Mudspeth wouldn't have complained like this.

While the music over the speakers is awful, the Cajun Band is not the answer. They only know 2 songs: Respect and the ESPN song!

The funny thing about this whole conversation is that both can be true.. We can be awful from a talent standpoint and the new staff can be underperforming at the same time..

True. But talent trumps coaching. Bottom line... if Hud was our coach we would be 1-3. We are going to be 1-3. Unlike some people on this site I like the sideline demeanor of this team and the coaching I saw on the sidelines. Unfortunately we will have to endure 2 seasons of bad football. If we are still struggling in year three it means we are still recruiting subpar athletes.

Talent absolutely does not trump coaching. Especially in the lower levels of CFB.

Haha. You had to take the other side. Was it talent or coaching that made Central Florida a G5 power? Their coach left. What are they ranked now? How is that hotshot coach doing at Nebraska? Big Red has lost their recruiting areas and are now a Big 10 also ran.
Talent is the only differentiator between us and App St. If Satterfield gets a P5 job at say N.C. State, he will probably not duplicate his success because N.C. State has too few P5 talents in their recruiting area. It is all about the Jim’s and the Joes. The difference between good and bad coaches is their ability to run a disciplined program which provide a showcase for the athletes. As we have seen already, most teams and coaches are running the same basic plays. It is about talent and disciplined execution. As soon as we get better players, Napier will become a better coach.

    I could not disagree more.

Scott Frost is 0-3 because he recruited and started a true freshmen QB that subsequently got injured. Nebraska had a good Colorado team on the ropes before the injury. But I digress because that is a singular example.

If you think App St had better talent than us the first three years that they DOMINATED Hudspeth and staff, you're lying to yourself. They came in with a small, FCS roster and DOMINATED what was the best program at the time in the SBC. I maintain that up until last year, they were not the most talented team in the conference.

Bobby Petrino went to WKU and turned them into a national contender. Immediately.
Harbaugh went to STANFORD and built a program over night. Dethroned the PAC12 dynasty with STANFORD talent (at the time, was god awful).
Boise St is getting the same good players that Petersen laid the ground work for, yet they have not been as good as the Petersen years.

I can name a thousand examples. And btw, good coaching and good recruiting go hand in hand. Have a system, know the system, recruit to the system. Developing players is probably the biggest trademark of all the best coaches that have become household names.

We will have to agree to disagree. App St won because they had a difference maker at QB and more athletic lineman. We switch coaches and we still lose those games. As we all agree on now, Hud was a poor evaluator of talent. Napier has inherited a depleted team with holes at QB and every defensive position. He will struggle to win consistently until he upgrades the roster. If that doesn’t scream talent over coaching, I don’t know what does.
