What you have stated is all true, but it is also true that we just lost to a program in it's second season of FCS football, led by a freshmen QB. You also have a HC stating that this loss is on the staff, we were all there and seen it in person. Bottom line, I don't see the discipline or improvement that usually happens by the second or third game. All this is also part of putting everything in context, whether you like it or not.
T, your analysis of where we are is spot on. Hopefully this coaching staff starts to see it in that light and last night was a reality check in that regard. This guy is young and has said that being in charge of the whole enchilada is new to him. Pain like was administered upon him last night is usually a game changer. Let's see how he handles it. It is unfortunate that next weekend will not provide much opportunity in that regard.
I bought in to Napier when we hired him. He is learning on the job as a HC and it's different managing the game from the sideline rather than the booth. I'm just disappointed in what I've seen to this point and I guess I'm guilty of making myself believe we were more talented than what we are right now. I'm a UL fan to the fault at times.
And everyone said the same about app state with their first year head coach and true freshman QB when they moved up..then they destroyed people for 4 years. They said the same about Georgia southern. Maybe some of you need to get it through your head that there just isn’t that big a difference in good fcs teams and lower FBS. Again, none of us know how good ccu will be. None of us know how we will finish this season. We beat an FCS, we lost to an SEC and lost by 2 to a conference team that runs an option offense..but by all means run for cover for the sky is falling.
Yup, I bought in thinking we had better talent too. THe results are painfully obvious. I believe in Naps and also understand that he is adjusting to a new world also. I too will be at the games when i'm not working and will continue to support UL Football. This is year one of new regime not year three. What Hud left us is a damn crying shame and the scholly reductions hurt more than we can imagine.
Excitement of having the 5th best recruiting class in the G5 sure went away quick around here.
