    Gonna be a great game.

If the fans show up, we'll get the boys across the finish line. We got this.

Gotta be tough to be displaced, concerned about what's going on back home, and trying to prepare mentally for a game. I'm sorry it's worked out for them that way, but thems the breaks.

Cajuns just need to do their part. Score early and often and do everything possible to disrupt their quarterback.
Back in 2008, we played Southern Miss just about the night before Hurricane Ike was to make landfall. A lot of our players were from New Orleans (and the south in general) and had just gotten over Katrina. A lot of them were worried about family back home and what was to come. Thank goodness for police escorts to lead us home b/c the Interstates were brutally backed up.

Southern Miss took advantage and went on to beat the brakes off of us. I hope we do the same this weekend.

Oh yes. That was for Hurricane Gustav. Southern Miss dominated that game from start to finish. Luckily, I had some family friends who lived just up the road north of Hattiesburg, so I stayed there for the next couple of days and waited for the storm to pass. That was a long weekend.

    Sure that wasn't Hurricane Georges?

Hurricane Georges was in 1998 and ironically, the Cajuns played Southern Miss that weekend as well. But in 2008, the Southern Miss game was played right before Hurricane Gustav.

I think we will score and score a lot on Louisiana. But they'll score even more.

I'm guessing we lose in 52-38 type game"

Apparently, Coastal has been staying in Jacksonville since their game on Wednesday. The CCU campus is still closed. They're essentially displaced. We know that feeling down here too. This is a tough spot to be in, but may work in the Cajun's favor in spite of the extra 2-3 days of prep that they've been able to get.
I just heard that CCU has cancelled classes the remainder of the week and will make an announcement on Thursday for next week.

I believe it was last year that Tulane beat the crap out of Tulsa with a hurricane bearing down on them. There was something like a 5PM drop dead time to get a flight out of New Orleans and the Tulane fans were convinced that Tulsa was so eager to get out of there that they barely put up a fight.

I don't think we are a sieve or swiss cheese. I think the problem is that we don't have playmakers on defense. I think that we will have trouble getting off the field and we just don't have a lot of playmaking pass rushers and on man defenders in the secondary.

90% chance of rain. Even if all seating was covered, they'd still stay home.

Fun fact for you. Through 3 games, only 1 team has even 1 sack vs MsSt. That would be UL. We are certainly not great up front, but we are not nearly as bad as you imply. LB is a bigger issue as are cover guys.

I thought I was kind of making that same point but Ok. I didn't say we were poor up front. I just said we don't have many playmakers or difference makers, however you want to term it. We don't have guys making that play in the backfield and we don't have those big interior D linemen who will plug those initial running lanes. I agree, our linebackers are not great but they are better than our secondary. We have a recent walk on and receiver starting in our defensive backfield. This is why I feel that our defensive scheme needs to change. We need to incorporate some more risk taking an blitz guys off the edge. This will help everyone.
