Are you being a smartass to MAT just to keep the feud going? And BTW... they would have continued to score on every drive with Fitzderald in the game. That's not the point of our offense not making sound decisions at every juncture in our drives.

Matt, ask him when’s the last time he attended a Cajun football game...

I think Z introduced me to him 10 years ago at the last game he attended at Cajun Field. If I'm not mistaken, his dad was one of my Calculus teachers. Doesn't he have a brother that posts on here too? Metry would probably chill out in person, just like you do, and enjoy just being a Cajun fan. Z likes him. I always use Z as the Embassador of Who's Cool and Who's a D l K?

No feud. He said it would be different. In score maybe, but not in outcome. I think those offensive plays will come when we play lower competition.

And my last game was Boise St. I still have season tickets with my brother and I renewed RCAF recently. I will make a game in November once the fall soccer season is finished. At this point in my live I would much rather watch my kids play sports than the Cajuns or any other team.

With a healthy Nick Fitzgerald, I think they are the 3rd best team in the SEC and probably a Top 10 team.

I was encouraged with the sustained effort throughout the game.

Ragas continues to impress, legitimate big time D1 running back.

I agree we played a lot of base defense, but Fitzgerald really forces that. 6'5", 230 lbs QB, that runs like a deer, can you say Cam Newton, but with a more accurate arm. I do think we get more pressure on SBC team's QBs.

The other positive is I didn't really see any injuries in the game. Usually we get beat up physically pretty bad against SEC teams.

Lastly, starting Week 7 is where I think we get an idea of what kind of coaches we have. If they are as good as I think they are, we should see good progress on playing sound, disciplined football and have a strong finish to the season.

That's cool (chasing kids). I realize you and MAT like to give each other grief. I wish I could read a continuum of thread posts that argue the subject matter... where it's irrelevant which poster posted it.

We are going to see Nick Fitzgerald lite when we face the quarterback that plays for Arkansas State. He's legit.

That's a good post. Although I'm always happy we didn't seem to come away with injuries, I don't agree we get more when we play better programs. You can get just as "injured" playing Grambling as you get "injured" against an Alabama. The stats just don't support the injury argument based on opponent. In reality, we have left SEC teams more injured than UL in almost every football matchup. As was the case last night.

But I completely agree with your assessment. I'm not thinking Napier and staff produce miracles beyond the talent we have on this team... but it would be fair to gauge how his staff is doing with the personnel by game 7. By then, you know what you have in a variety of matchups. Choosing the right players, the right plays and the game management at that point does begin reflecting on the staff.

Hansen might actually be a better passer

As much as I know we have some gaps in our defense... I don't think judging them against that Miss State offense is entirely fair. I think Miss State will prove they're a serious top 10 team if Fitzgerald stays healthy.
Might be time to start thinking about Levi as a DB. I'm afraid he is following Ray's career path. Hate to waste his talent, and we could REALLY use him back there.

He's our backup QB. You don't take your #2 guy and switch positions.
