And how in the world did you come up with State being overrated? They look like the complete package. Their only concern will be injuries. They are not as deep as the rest of the SEC elite.
I actually took the ML +285 for an LSU win. I still don’t understand how talking heads were down on LSU. One of the top 10 most talented teams in America and nasty defensively.

MSU just lost one of the best coaches in America. Fitzgerald is not an accurate passer passes 15 yards. They had every reason to over look us, especially looking at their schedule. And it’s still Miss St.

It used to be we had thread drift from the OP. Now, every thread turns into a ____ing match between some of the same posters.

Yes, OP, this is the guy for UL.

If I’m being serious here for a bit, I do think Napier was a good hire. However, we need a real cULture change here, and I don’t know if we’ll get that.

Troy has beaten LSU and Nebraska in back to back seasons. Other than that Florida game, I can’t recall being competitive with a P5 since Kansas State. A&M last year was our chance, but it went all downhill after halftime, and that team was not very good.

I was hoping we’d be competitive the first 20 Minutes, then I figured that Miss State D-Line would wear on our guys bad.

I did like Napier’s attitude of going for it on those 4th downs where a lot of G5 coaches would have punted. He appears to have an attitude of where he expects these guys to have some pride. Good.

We’ll see what happens in conference play. I want to see improvement throughout the season. There were some dumb penalties. How the hell, on a 4th and 1, do you need to cal back to back timeouts and still false start? That’s the cleanup I’m hoping he can take care of.

Huh? You aren't serious about the reset button and wanting to stay with Hud?

We are talking about 2 games, with 2 polar opposite opponents. A FCS team and a FBS SEC team. Coach Napier is working with the hand he was dealt. I watched the game, our D-Line was getting eaten up by the Miss. State O-Line. Furthermore, Coach Napier can't coach speed. That was one of the most glaring differences between us and them. They say speed kills. Last night was a prime example.

I went back and put my "until then" in bold, so no one misreads my post like you did.

I said: "Until then you look for things like disciplined football, playing 60 minutes, and so on."

Actually they have SEC speed on defense, but our receivers were able to get behind their DB's in the game. They are big and physical up front, but outside of Hill on offense they have good speed on offense. Their WR's beat us deep once for a TD, they are tall and rangy.

Mississippi State has 29 seniors and they are a Top 15 team, but they do not have the speed on offense skilled positions compared to Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Tex A&M or Georgia. Otherwise, they would be an elite team.

The game had mixed results, we were not disciplined to technique as some are saying and we did not execute when we had opportunities. Not all of it had to do with the opponent last night. We will get a better idea of what we are this week against Coastal Carolina.

Louisiana IS in the near future(maybe this or next year) going to announce the addition and renovation of Cajun Field! IMO the price tag will be MORE than the $65 Million originally planned for as did Baseball get a bigger budget than previously planned. Right or Wrong coach speak, WAY TOO EARLY! Give these players/coaches some time and I mean like this whole season. Watch the recruiting, Watch the budget, watch for Progression! IMHO, Greaux, Cajun Nation!!!!
Improve the stadium, yes. Expand the stadium, no. Attendance is going south at all college sporting events. There is absolutely no need for additional seating at Cajun Field. Add more amenities instead.

This is precisely why I've written so few posts over the years... and when I post... I keep it short and simple.
