    Sliman's Thoughts
"Very anxious and excited to start not only the fall, but the 2018-19 season. This is a new venue for us and a very challenging course that's going to challenge every aspect of your game including mentally. I am very confident in the squad we have here this week. It has been a very competitive among this group in qualifying, and I'm looking forward to see us compete for the first time as a team this season. We have a couple true freshmen in the lineup this week that are making their college debuts. I'm excited to see them in action for the first time."

    The Field
Host UTSA is joined by Arkansas State, Lipscomb, Little Rock, Louisiana, McNeese, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston State, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Texas State, ULM, UT Arlington and UTEP in the 15-team field.

    The Lineup
Louisiana will see two true freshmen make their college debut at the Lone Star Invitational with Charlie Flynn and Hudson Dubinski in the lineup. Flynn had a strong summer as he was the fourth player in program history to claim the Southern Golf Association Junior Championship.

Triston Elston, Jack Tolson and Bjorn Gudjonsson round out the lineup. Tolson also had a good summer earning a spot in the 118th US Amateur Championship. The junior led the team with a 74.03 scoring average a year ago, while Elston was second posting a 74.12 average.

    On Deck
Following the Lone Star Invitational, the Ragin' Cajuns are back in action later in the week with a return trip to the Louisville Cardinal Challenge for the second straight year on Sept. 14-16.

Going to be a sloppy course IF they play. Very wet here right now. 😕
