That's just it. They won't be. They're in Greenville, NC and guess where the gut of the storm is heading to? I'm actually throwing it out there wondering if our game with them will happen. It's not that far fetched. They will be dealing with a lot of destruction. They may not have any basic services. Think of New Orleans and how long it took to recover.

It the storm strikes to the north of Myrtle Beach, the damage should be considerably less than if the storm struck the same distance, but to the south. The NE quadrant of a hurricane usually has the most destructive winds.

Of course, at this point, the exact location of landfall cannot be determined with a lot of accuracy.

Yeah completely not thinking of what the 10 days will involve. I hope east coast fairs well with the storm. I saw 4 games are canceled. Maybe coastal can come here early if needed. No matter what happens coastal looks to be a tough team.

More like Biloxi than NOLA where the defective Corp of Engineers levees were breeched and under water for six weeks.

"There’s very high confidence that Florence will reach the southern coast of North Carolina on Thursday night as a very dangerous major hurricane. It now looks increasingly possible that Florence will stay near the coast (either inland or just offshore) for a day or longer, perhaps moving southwest along the coast. In this case, the coastline north of the center could experience storm surge during at least two 12-hour tidal cycles, rather than just one, and at least some surge could spread southwest with Florence. Florence’s track beyond Friday is still subject to major change as the weak steering currents evolve."

Can you imagine that thing staying just off the coast for 24 hours or more? What a battering that will be.

....I wonder if they will move into dorm at ltur like Tulane did.....come to think of it not a bad move logistically for them

Hopefully the game can happen next week. If not, I’m sure we will be looking for a replacement (team who is playing another team affected by storm and had to cancel).

It's important for a team to make tremendous progress in its second game from its first one. If we see that progress (with no injuries) in this game, and we survive the Alabama game (again, with no injuries), we can very easily end up with 6 wins once we play through our conference schedule. That'll be enough to go bowling this year, and it'll set up next year as a break out season for the Cajuns.

If we lose a few starters to injuries, it'll be a very long season for us. If we stay healthy all game, I don't think we'll lose by more than 14.

L.A. Tech would never let a lowly Sun Belt team utilize their state of the art facilities. They are so very much above the Belt. They still busy trying to figure out how a low level Sun Belt team like ULM could possibly beat a team like USM from such a powerful league like CUSA this past weekend. That is a feat the folks in Ruston can't seem to figure out! LOL!!!

Believe me USM alum and fans are ____ed right now and all are saying its going to be a long season. I forsee a new coach push by the end of the season in Hattiesburg. Now hopefully my daughter stays true to her UL college plans and doesn't get swayed to USM by a boy

I know what Katrina did to the Mississippi gulf coast and that was only 12-14 hrs of pounding, of course Katrina had a 32' tidal surge in Bay St Louis which is higher than telephone poles. This storm they are not talking about that type of surge, but nothing can hold up to 2-3 days of wind, water and tornadic activity that these storms cause, and with a forecast of feet of rain deep indland this is a worst case scenario if I have ever seen one.
