What we do know is that wells is the hitting coach, Talbot will be our main recruiter and BaB will handle administrative tasks. Seems like a the right job for each guys skill set.
"Jeremy Talbot will assist with the hitters while also" in my experience with job descriptions the task that is performed the most is always listed 1st. When Napier took over he clearly defined his involvement as play caller within the offense and Sales duties as OC not so much with the Zoolander hire.

JT will only touch as much of the offense as Wells allows. Meaning if Wells comes in (like Deggs did) and says don't touch MY hitters, then JT will back off. JT is no alpha. If Wells comes in and allows others to influence his hitters, that's on him in my opinion.

Deggs took full control of the offensive side when he came in. Not because Robe gave it to him, because he took it. He didn't let anyone meddle with his ____. He told Bab, who has a lot of clout to back the ____ off.

It's all in Wells' hands. We know Tony would rather not be involved with offense. He only interjects when things are going poorly.

So I say again, if the offense sucks next year, it will be on Wells, not JT. Wells needs to come in and take over. He owns it.

Let’s just imagine this. We put a grad assistant at 1st with wells on 3rd. So who does that leave in the dugout to “assist with the hitters”? He’s going to have more access to them now during the game.

If JT still interjects, that’s on the hierarchy already established and only one man can change that. I don’t see him changing it as we can’t upset current coaches feelings.

You have no basis to say JT is ahead of Wells in the hierarchy.

Bab was ahead of Deggs in the hierarchy and he didn’t touch Deggs hitters.

If Wells is any kind of coach, he has fully determined what his authority is. Especially given the controversy with Talbot, I can't imagine someone leaving one job for another unless he knew he had the authority necessary to be successful. While assistant coach at Louisiana is a good place for an upcoming coach, it ain't the only one. I find it hard to believe that he would come here and not know what he was working with.

Pure speculation on your part. No facts.

In my experience if you are assisting someone you are going their bidding. If you do not then they either fire you are move you somewhere else. Unless Wells is a total fraud and wimp Talbot will be carrying out his plan.

Old habbits die hard and you dont think he will have 1 on 1 work with kids in the cage and interject his hitting style ... 2 different coaching style with a team that struggled with over thinking each at bat will be a great combination for success

Either JT was a bad recruiter or bad hitting coach, or maybe both. We definitely sucked at power and average and timely hitting while he’s been in charge. I’d prefer if’n He’d been shown the door.
