After all is said and done, I trust in Robe. I trust there is a reason to his recent Madness. He deserves that respect.

Ran into someone very close to the organization this week and he said that the coaching situation is a dumpster fire over there. This all appears to back up such an analysis.

Who's on first, what is on third and coach stop sign is still assisting with hitting. Nobody knows where the assistant head coach will be.

Knowing the quite vocal negative sentiments of much of the fan base and the regular posters on this board towards JT, it is utterly amazing that a press release from the university would say anything other than "JT will no longer be involved with hitting" unless, he will really be involved with hitting.

So, JT will continue to have some meaningful role with hitters, or

    either

the persons who generated and approved the press release which the fan base has been waiting on for months have no clue; or

the intent in stating that "Jeremy Talbot will assist with the hitters" was to continue to ___ with those with the vocal sentiments of displeasure for JT.

    Pick your poison.

Guys you are forgetting the fact there is a 99% chance another paid coach is going to get approved by the NCAA. But until then Bab gets a little "break", at least on paper.

I can also confirm that Wells will be the guy in charge of hitting. We all know the claim that Robe doesn’t fire people. Well, this is a “meeting halfway.” JT is a good recruiter, so he’s leaving him in charge of that while giving him some leverage of throwing out a few pointers here and there at practice while the players hit in the batting cage. Other than that, the rest is all on Jake Wells who will take control of in-game situations and overall batting philosophy.

Oh, and might I add that I’ve been told that Wells is very keen on the individual batter rather than the philosophy as a whole. We once had another hitting coach like that. He’s the head guy at Sam Houston State.

Based on roles that each individual had within the system designed to utilize their strengths. More particularly to Deggs, he was not a technician of the swing. He didn’t change stances, loads or swings. He focused on the mental aspect. He didn’t want you thinking about where your hands or feet were during certain parts of the swing. He wanted you focused on hunting the fastball. Other hitting coaches micromanage the swing.

This is hilarious, so we we get the press release we have all waited for and it confirms 99% of what we already knew and some people are twisting this into a bad situation? Some say having TAlbot on staff is confirmation we will still struggle while others are already concerned Wells is gone to a bigger program after next year. News flash, y’all don’t know. What we do know is that wells is the hitting coach, Talbot will be our main recruiter and BaB will handle administrative tasks. Seems like a the right job for each guys skill set.
