Thread: Cajuns return game a question of risk versus reward

  1. UL Football Cajuns return game a question of risk versus reward

As if college football coaches and players don’t have enough decisions to make, the NCAA made it more complicated this year by implementing a new rule that permits teams to fair catch a kickoff inside the 25-yard line and get the ball at the 25.

Going into the 2018 season, which opened for UL last Saturday night with a 49-17 win over Grambling, first-year Ragin’ Cajuns head coach Billy Napier’s staff put some thought into how they’d handle the new options.

I don't think it's much of an option to consider at all. If you catch the ball deep in the end-zone, take a knee. Who in the hell will call for a fair catch at the 10 yard line or even the 1 unless you don't have a return man that you know can't take it to he houseAll this to prevent injuries by being tacklednest we will have fair snap and move the ball up five yards.

Similar to a punt, it all depends on the hang time of the kick.
