That segment was excellent. Way better than Xs and Os.

Hud attempting to play Florida into overtime was the biggest faux pas, but his constant misuse of timeouts also showed his inability to manage games.
I was excited about Hud, but never thought he was all that. Many times I liked what he did like that Broadway TD pass against ULMost when they were hell bent on creating a turnover in an attempt to win the game. But more often didn’t think he had any idea about defense, and jump 50/50 balls became ineffective.
My comments are directed really in relation to his first 3-4 years. The jumpball was not a real heavily used tactic until after Broadway left and we had no QB's. You are pulling small independent things out that you may have criticized him for but the overwhelming support and enthusiasm in the program for Hud was similar to that of Napier. And if Napier can elevate this program like Hud did, then we will be in better shape. I'm just saying that I'd rather give him time before I start calling him a legend and wanting to name stadiums after him and see how he builds a program.
He became addicted to the jump ball with Peewee.
All I’m saying is there was not universal love or belief in Hud. That’s true about Billy as well.
Agree. I am extremely optimistic & hopeful about what Coach Napier brings to our program. But he hasn't accomplished much on the field yet. Having observed how he is putting this program together & having spoken with him briefly, l very much like everything he is doing. Will that translate into a successful tenure here? Not sure, but everything seems to be pointing to "yes". I do agree that measuring him for that HOF bust is juuussst a bit premature. Geaux Cajuns & geaux Nape!
You don't think "He is an elite coach" is a positive statement?
"Opinion", "enthusiasm", and "excitement" are totally allowed even expected when stating a positive.
In the light of one game proving he is wrong has a higher burden than proving he is right.
In two weeks or two years you might have a stronger argument, but it still won't mean your -put on the brakes- attitude was correct on Sept. 5th
ps try to be positive.
Napier was wearing Red too!
