Angelle Carty W/F 25 of Jennings and Gary Thomas 51 of Lake Charles, were observed at a local car wash sitting in their car for an extended time. Officer Ryan Courville ran the tag on the car and discovered that the tag on the car had been switched for another tag. He stopped and approached the car. While approached he detected a strong chemical smell from the car. He got both the driver and the passenger out of the car. Officer Courville called for the department's K-9 handler, Heath Ewing.
When Off Ewing arrived with Hans, they worked the car and Hans hit three times on the car which lead to a search of the car and the discovery of chemicals used to make Meth. The subjects were arrested for Possession with the intent to distribute Sch I, II and IV narcotics. State Police HazMat responded and assisted with the removal of the chemical from the car.
