These are his final three, but he has more offers than this including:
ECU RPI 275
ODU RPI 74
CMU RPI 144
Longwood RPI 335
UTA RPI 112
UMASS-Lowell RPI 293
Air Force RPI 252
His 3 finalist are
UL RPI 65
Weber State RPI 158
Tulsa RPI 89
It appears outside of a couple he has eliminated he has taken some of the higher RPI schools from last year as his finalist. Hopefully we can convince him to come to UL, never hurts to have too many good PG's.
One of these days we will win one these recruiting battles. After all, we did get Long (after a year) and Elfrin?
Elfrid?
Yes, Long we lost, but he came back after the fact and Elfrid was not highly recruited, I think he was a project when he arrived that was much better than anyone could have expected. I think the same can be said for Jay Wright. I don't think anyone could expect Jay to end up with the career he had at UL.
Bryce is actually another one that was not highly recruited when he came to UL and ended up with a stellar career.
Not my point, but in some cases the players improved greatly while they were here. That could be them maturing, them getting better/growing into themselves or finally yes, possibly better coaching. It appears that many of the guards that came here have improved, again I don't say that all the credit is to Marlin, but I do believe that we have taken a reach on a few players whom improved or grew into their skill set while they were here.
Long had the talent before he got to UL and we were lucky to get him
Payton was young and undervalued, he matured a ton (basketball wise and age) to become what he is now
Wright I think we just got lucky and he was overlooked.
Washington I think just worked harder than most
He started here at 16.
Well Bryce Washington was a stud in HS and a 3* out of Brother Martin (I think). He was rated as a top 10 player in the state too. He wasn’t really under the radar.
