On February 23, 2010, JUSTIN THOMAS, 25, of Iberia Street - Franklin, was arrested after the Franklin Police Department received a DNA match in reference to a burglary that occurred in 2008 at St. Mary Tire. Officers located Thomas on Iberia Street and he was placed under arrest. At the time of his arrest officer located both cocaine and drug paraphernalia on Mr. Thomas. Upon further investigation Mr. Thomas was charged with the following:
A warrant for Ferriday Police Department, charging him with Failure To Appear, Unauthorized Entry of a Place of Business (St. Mary Tire), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Cocaine, 2 Counts Simple Burglary of a Business (Mendoza's Seafood), 3 Counts Simple Burglary of a Business (Raisa's Seafood), Attempted Burglary of a Business (Anderson Food Mart), Attempted Burglary of a Business (Five Star Mart), Criminal Damage To Coin Operated Device (Suds in a Bucket) and Simple Burglary of a Residence (502 Ibert Street). These burglaries are from 2008 until present. Mr. Thomas lived in Franklin on and off for the past 3 years. Mr. Thomas was processed and held with no bond set at time of press release to appear in 16th Judicial District Court.
The Franklin Police Department responded to 18 complaints over the past 24 hours and made the following arrests:
2/23/2010 @ 11:20 AM, DONALD RAY RANDLE, 53, of Franklin, LA was arrested and charged with 2 Counts Theft of Utility Service, Criminal Trespass, Theft and Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling. Mr. Randle was processed and held with no bond set at time of press release to appear in 16th Judicial District Court.
2/23/2010 @ 12:45 PM, GERALD DONALD FRANKLIN, 61, of Willow Street - Franklin, LA was arrested on a Bench Warrant issued by 3rd Ward City Court, charging him with Failure To Appear. Mr. Franklin was processed and held on a $389.00 cash fine.
2/23/2010 @ 8:12 PM, DEANGELES PATRICE FREEMAN, 38, of Iberia Street - Franklin, LA was arrested on a warrant issued by 16th Judicial District Court, charging her with 2 Counts Issuing Worthless Checks. Ms. Freeman was processed and released to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office.
2/23/2010 @ 8:12 PM, JONATHAN MARVIN LONGMAN, 40, of Second Street - Franklin, LA was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated - 2nd offense, Careless Operation, Criminal Damage To Property and Stop Sign Violation. Mr. Longman was processed and held with no bond set at time of press release to appear in 3rd Ward City Court.
2/23/2010 @ 9:17 PM, KENNY FREDERICK, 23, of Joan Drive - Franklin, LA was arrested and charged with Disturbing the Peace - Fighting. Mr. Frederick was processed and held on a $250.00 bond to appear in 3rd Ward City Court.
2/23/2010 @ 9:24 PM, WILLIS ADAM LEONARD JR., 47, of Pershing Street - Baldwin, LA was arrested and charged with Disturbing the Peace - Fighting. Mr. Leonard was processed and held with no bond set at time of press release to appear in 3rd Ward City Court.
