The guy that runs the Olympic Development Program is legit and has a good bit of experience. There's talent out there and local.

This subject is always a tough one for me.

Do I want to spend $60-70k on a coach for a program that doesn’t draw, in a sport that no one cares about regionally?

Not really. Title IX sports lose money. It is what it is.

Don't think you need to spend that type of money. Nothing really off base on the pay just time to try a different route.

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns soccer team closed out its three-match homestand with a 1-0 victory over Arkansas State on Friday night at the Ragin' Cajuns Soccer/Track Facility.

Took my kids to our first Cajuns soccer game ever. Guess I’m good luck. Had fun, was hoping the concessions would be a little more reasonable than at other events, but....

  11. UL Soccer Louisiana Plays to a Draw at South Alabama

Junior Erika Sierra's goal in the last minute of regulation lifted the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns soccer team to a 1-1 double-overtime draw against South Alabama on Friday night at The Cage.

Louisiana (3-11-3, 2-6-1 SBC) outshot the Jaguars (7-8-1, 5-3-1 SBC) 20-19 in the match. South Alabama had a 13-9 edge in corners on the night.

The tie keeps the Ragin' Cajuns Sun Belt Conference tournament hopes alive as the Cajuns move two points back of Georgia Southern for eighth place in the league.

Freshman Gwen Mummert led Louisiana with six shots in the contest and picked up her first assist of the season, while keeper Mackenzie Lee notched a career-best nine saves.

    HOW IT HAPPENED

South Alabama got a goal late in the first half when Morgan Cross collected a long pass from Hannah Godfrey and placed a shot in the back of the net in the 42nd minute.

In the second half, Louisiana continued the offensive onslaught tallying a 12-8 edge in shots including eight shots on frame.

Sierra evened the contest with 11 seconds remaining in regulation as she buried the rebound from a Mummert header off of the crossbar into the back of the net for her first goal of the season. The goal snapped a streak of 473 minutes without a goal for the Ragin' Cajuns.
