We had a professor at UL that taught Thermodynamics. He was Pakistani. The first day of class he challenged that if any student could beat him in tennis, he'd give them an A and they didn't have to attend class or take any exams. I got to know him and I asked him if anyone took him up on it... or better yet... beat him. He said, "I'm not that good... but I always beat young guys... they cannot help themselves but to hit the ball too hard. I just volley until they make a mistake... no one has ever beat me." I thought about getting a friend of mine on the UL tennis team to trash him as a joke. I already blew my cover... but I knew a guy in class Dr. Nourani wouldn't know from Adam. That's the only and last time I've ever heard of "a deal" or "extra credit" in engineering.
I hear ya. But while we give students "extra credit" for attending sports functions... those knot head professors are going to double down on their dumb opinion laden lectures.
Oh... Napier just called and said, "We won't need the students that need extra credit to attend football games... all of the seats will be taken by good students that want to be there."
LOL
Maggard stole the reset button Hilary gave to Russia?! Grambling is going to claim UL colluded with Russia to win the game! I see another pointless high dollar waste of tax payer money Special Councel investigation! Maggard's yard man and the lady that cut his hair 15 years ago will end up with jail time!
Thank you. I am not an engineer. Used that example because I sense there are a lot of engineers on here. Thought I might be speaking Chinese cause I couldn't get him to understand. For a profession like engineering I eWorld think that critical thinking skills are important much more than social skills. Although not a straight correlation you are much more likely to find good critical thinking in the 3.5 student than the 2.3. Critical thinking cannot be found in any book.
No, I am assuming that scanning tickets is useless if you don't use it for attendance. Just tear the stub of the ticket if they use tickets sold for attendance. which they do. Hell they just about know what the attendance is before the game starts. They don't have to use the number through the turnstiles for attendance reporting, but you can get a pretty good number how we stand as for as fans in the stands....
Students don't need extra credit to get them to the game. They got $2 beer in the beer garden. Half of them don't even know yet. 2 DOLLARS. For all you old timers that's like 50 cent beer back in the your days when you adjust for beerflation. We just gotta win and the students will show up.
