Doubt they will bring 16.5 like Atlanta. A lot of Grambling alumni and/or their extended families already live in the ATL so it's sort of a homecoming. I do know Iberia parish GSU fans will be well represented. They don't number as much as Opellousas Southern fans (SU had scandal where they basically handed out diplomas for cash creating an inflated alumni base from St. Landry parish), but they do have a loyal base in New Iberia, Jenerette and Franklin. They'll bring a several thousand and will be loud.

Don’t be surprise if a lot of Southern fans will show up as well to the first game. We could end up having the fire marshal have to shut it down!

Go look at the hotel rates in Lafayette they are steadily creeping up which to me is a good indication on how many Grambling fans will be coming.

If it’s your priority that’s great, but why does it bother you who else is there? I have never understood this, do you go to enjoy the game yourself? Or to see the people?

Big time programs will have trouble filling the stadium on Labor Day weekend against Grambling...everyone is having trouble with attendance..even Alabama. Acting won’t do ___, wanna be big time? Play like it. You can’t force people to do something..you gotta make them want to.

Very well attended game, especially considering it was raining all day! I would suggest GSU brought 5-7K so we as fans did our part. I was honestly expecting a much lighter crowd.

Pleasantly surprised with the numbers. Especially considering the weather. When the last time we had 28k+ in those stands?

Told my wife I was absolutely shocked by the turn out. Couldn’t get 15k in the rain for Kansas St, couldn’t get 20k for top 25 Okie St and top 25 Boise St.

But almost 30k, in the rain, for Grambling? Nice accomplishment. Btw, tailgating and student areas (especially by the intramural fields and Greeks) were absolutely jammmed packed before, during and after the game.

This town is going to be a mad house once we hang a few Ws with Napier and Maggard in charge.
