Where can I watch the conference? Trying to navigate the Ragin Cajun site is a joke Why do they have the meetings at the cox center? Didn't they build a nice auditorium in the APC for that purpose?

In fact, the press conferences from here on out will be in the Cox building at least for football.

Media Day is mostly about one-on-one interviews and taking pictures that can be used throughout the year to create human interest stories. At least that was my experience.

Napier and staff have been more open about recruiting than any staff here-to-fore, so I give them a pass on anything they want to hold close to the vest.

If Napier tried to keep his staff a secret, I might feel differently.

The auditorium might be nice but the COX center lends itself to over the table interviews and is the easiest walk to Photos in The Swamp.

There weren’t a ton of one-on-one interviews with players like there was in the past. I believe there were only 5 available and there weren’t any QB’s. We were hoping to get more human interest stories. I understand why they may have limited it to certain players it was just different which could be a good thing.

Im really confused as to your point, so if a coach dictates the course of an interview he is a control freak. If the reporter dictates it he is just doing his job. “Nobody likes being told how to do their job” but part of a coaches job is to give interviews and a reporter trying to dictate that is trying to tell that coach how to do his job. It’s becoming quite clear why coaches and reporters don’t care for each other.

Reporter steering without writing the actual question has long been one of my media pet peeves.

I was in on many of the interviews so I heard questions and answers. Unfortunately when print comes to shove they often make it sound like the coach was trying to get something off his chest.

Dictating the course of the interview is what control freaks do and Buckley isn't the only reporter angered by UL's newest policy. No one is happy being told how to do their job and at this rate, there won't be anyone left to attend. Of course, if you get rid of everyone else, you're in control. Remember, Napier isn't Nick Saban, he only worked for him. Why make enemies when friends are so much better?

Coach likely did not want to add pressure to the two main guys and not have the risk of one saying something which could be interpreted in a way he would not prefer.

Yeah I agree with you, either one of them could have slipped up and said something that the coaches don’t want everyone to know.
