“Boudreaux has been selling regular football equipment to most of the Southeastern Conference schools and other colleges and some high schools since 2002 out of Boudreaux Athletics in Opelousas and had experimented with the misting tents. But his trailer of cool idea is only a year old. LSU had the first two last year and will have two more by Friday just before the Tigers begin practicing on Saturday. Louisiana-Lafayette will get two Friday.”

    Good move.

Easier than the ice pool. Less bioshock.

He is a UL grad and writes for The Advertiser. Don't care that he writes about LSU and the Saints. He doesn't work for The Advocate. A Lafayette sportswriter should ALWAYS refer to his alma mater as Louisiana or UL, period.

No, he writes for Gannett and his articles are published in all Gannett Louisiana newspapers. He isn’t tied to one specific paper.

And he doesn't get to decide how Louisiana is referred to. As has been stated many times, this is an editorial decision I'm not a decision made by the reporter.

I'm not talking about the Advocate. All the other Advertiser reporters use UL and Louisiana. Did the Advertiser change their policy?

I can tell you with near absolute certainty that every newspaper, magazine, or Internet site of any size or sophistication, has a policy on grammar, punctuation, in reference of names that is uniform throughout the publication and decided at the editors level and not The reporter. If A reporter does not conform to the grammar and editing style, the editor will make the necessary changes

  11. UL 1984, 1999 . . . . Re: UL next for 25 degree Cool Cave from Boudreaux Athletics

I did notice in his bio that he referred to us as UL appropriately. He did use SLI when appropriate.

Buckley writes with no regard for grammar. If that stuff is edited, I would hate to see what it looks like before!
