Just like we passed on sports under authement years ago and for a long time, we passed on gambling during the same period. Very unfortunate that both happened. Just think.

I like the way you think, but legally Harrah's has to be the only non-Indian, land-based casino

    Vermilion River.

I’d cut a huge bay into it and put in a gigantic boat casino.

    That would definitely sell out.

Does sports gambling play into UFC at all? Would that be a barrier to coming to Lafayette?

I always wondered why no one has ever tried to open up a Casino in Lafayette. I wonder if it has to do with the Vermillion River being too small to navigate?

I want to say they’ve changed the regulations recently so that you don’t actually have to have a riverboat. L‘Auberge in Baton Rouge is definitely not a riverboat.

I always thought the old factory across from Beaver Park would be a great spot to put one.

Since Cormier is retiring after his next fight in April, that will likely not happen but getting Poirier would be great. Don't know if the UFC would consider this location but it would be interesting.

Wasn't a gambling boat, but remember the "Vermilion Queen" and the dinner cruises on the river? Didn't take long for that to sink,

It would be nice but there’s no chance in hell. They’d lose out on an obscene amount of money if they did it here instead of Vegas.

But remember that CenturyLink is the closest concert arena for people who live in places like Nacotiches, Ruston, Monroe, Nacogdoches, Texarkana, and Vicksburg. So I think it is safe to say CenturyLink’s overall market is much larger.

We would not get a main event type of deal but they do Fight Night events on Fridays or even Saturdays that are not in mainstream locations. They do some stuff in Oklahoma and Missouri.
