I read this and figured it would be of interest to Cajuns fans. Specifically in terms of the deficit. It seems that the Cajundome management hasn't done enough to generate revenue by bringing in acts on a regular basis.Greg Davis, the longtime director of the Cajundome, announced Friday that he will retire at the end of the Cajundome's fiscal year, Oct. 31.
Davis announced his retirement in a letter to the Cajundome Commission at its July meeting.
According to the letter Davis submitted to the commission, his retirement is part of his proposed solution to a budget deficit for the current fiscal year.
"The economy of Lafayette is having a most serious impact on our ability to maximize live entertainment business," Davis wrote in his letter. "As a result, our deficit for (fiscal year) 2018 will exceed the operating subsidy. This is a first."
