I agree. It makes no sense to give non-paying patrons some of the potentially most desirable and best revenue producing seats (once renovations are made) in the stadium.
Students need to go to school, get a good education and develop an attitude that one day they will go out into the real world, get a good job and be able to afford some of the prime seating at Cajun Field.
Yeah, because that side of the stadium is always at a shortage of available seating!
I am excited about the direction of the program as much as anyone else but people have to be realistic in their expectations. We are a LONG way from having to worry about seating issues in Cajun Field. We can 10-2 for many years and not have problems with too much attendance in my opinion. People want to see a good product on the field but they also want it against another good product as well. Until that changes we are still on an uphill climb.
Games have to be affordable and comfortable.
Corporations spend the big bucks on suites and nice seats but you need the everyday fan to show up and spend their money.
Hopefully we find a nice happy medium and get a nice full stadium.
Well we need to gear it more for the casual fans who just want to have fun, and enjoy the cULture. Make it where they can enjoy a drink, mingling with fans, and having a burger before the game, and watching a football game on the big screen before the game, and they will stay in the stadium for the game. Plus students would want to just come in and hang out enjoy themselves before the game as well, and visitors.
What we could do is offer tailgating spots in the NEZ, along with the Parish Terrace but that all needs to be kept in the NEZ, but keep the rest open to the public to come in and enjoy themselves.
Here is an idea for the visitor side concourse level at the top, but with bar stools so people can sit. Keep the seating on the east end just like it is. Is hard liquor an option lol? Doing something like this at the top of the visitor side probably wouldn't even cost that much.
