This is UCF plan but we could do something like this across the visitor concourse, minus the palm trees etc. Put some TV's, play some music that visitor side (east side) be rocking ! It would have to be covered though

This is not UCF but to me this setup is the best! This is how it should be with bar stools and chairs!

Excited about all of these Ideas. Up on my wish list would be a permanent pavilion with a nice stage/tailgating area, like a mini championship square I guess. If we could just take the Lafayette downtown main stage and plop it where the cox bldg is Of course, redesign the stadium with suites, have the band learn a few more 'in between play' songs so we don't have to listen to that same sucky tune like 100 times. A/C the bathrooms so there won't be a slipping hazard with all of the humidity on the floor. Adjust the PA level to prevent hearing impairment. Oh, and above all, schedule more big name schools at home if that's possible. Oh, and Advertise the RCAF more. I've never seen one TV commercial that I can remember

    At least this.

This would nice in the north end zone with the grass being terraced like the above pic.

I say this every time a stadium thread comes up.

If there are 5,000 people in Acadiana willing to pay $200 more to sit in a “premium seat,” UL has better have 5,000 of those seats waiting for them.

Yeah, the more I've had time to think about it, turn the whole NEZ into this....turn the concourse into something like 9221's pic above, and the bowl area into the terraced Parish concept. Keep it simple and not outrageously expensive and it'll be fantastic.

I just took the survey. I emphasized my greatest focus would be to provide more covered seating to deal with the sun, particularly on the east side. I also noticed that the three price ranges they talked about for chairback seating was $67, $83, and $100. Are there enough people willing to pay those prices? I also said I am an old fashioned fan. I have a good time if the team wins and a terrible time if they lose. It is that cut and dry for me with all the other stuff being a lot of fluff. I recognize not everyone looks at it that way and I respect those other views. I also understand a more up to date stadium can help with recruiting.

See I like that idea for the the NEZ, it would be a way for family with kids and young ones to stand watch a game, and get a drink. We even could put something out there for kids.

Well this is how I think about it. We have to create a vibe or buzz and it has to be cool to go to the game . There is certain ways to do this

    1. Winning
    2. Level of Competition
    3. Create a Tailgate/Party type atmosphere etc.

We need to do it by creating something unique, like the Terrace with the bar but it would never work if people are going to have to pay 100 bucks. If you just charged regular price to sit on the NEZ with something like the Terrace you will spend the extra to get a drink, and to have a good time.

Same with the idea of a Championship Square. If we put something like that where the Cox building Is then we could have live concerts and hang out before the game. Get money from actually tailgaters which is another revenue stream, sell funnel cakes, and chicken on a stick etc.

If we create something at the top on the Concourse level on the visitor side with bar stools and table and tv's it would be no problem for visitors, students, and fans just to want to sit up there because you created something that has that party type atmosphere.

We are not in the bar business. People associate having a good time around here with drinking, eating, and talking. Well let's bring that to Cajun Field. Every game needs to be like a Festival.

In the deserve dept. I don't think current students deserved to be evicted as a way of rewarding past students.

Students are your past, present, and future of every University's relative athletic existence.

    Students are your money backbone.

There is no model that pays bigger 'forever' dividends than students at the 50.

As long as we are in the Sunbelt. I'm tapping out at $50-$55 per seat for premium seating.

If we were in another G5 league, maybe $70 per seat. Anything above that for college football, we would have to be in a P5 conference. Also remember, in addition to the ticket cost, there's usually a RCAF fee for premium seating.

    Turbine,

I agree with your premise in general, as many of us on this board are former students. But can you provide any other examples of Universities that "reserve" 50 yard line seats strictly for students? I can't answer that question myself, but would be shocked to learn that this is a policy at many schools (if any), much less at any consistently successful programs.
