Catahoula Common was the 1st Gnarly Barley beer that I tried and thought it was absolutely horrible. So horrible, I could only stand a few sips and threw the rest of the 6 pack away.

I had to be talked into trying Juicifer just because it was made by Gnarly Barley. Juicifer won me over pretty quick.

I still say for people who think they just will never like “craft” beer, Parish Canebrake and Bayou Teche Ragin Cajun are two that will get you buying local craft.

After that, it’s up to you where you want to expand. My dad still doesn’t like IPA/hoppy styles. However, he also used to not like “dark beers”, but now, he likes Founders Breakfast Stout, and various bourbon barrel aged stouts. He looks for them at Nunu’s.

Urban south's Marzen was the first beer by them I did not care for

The best Oktoberfest beer I ever had and still crave it today was from a German place called Eckhard's in Topping Virginia

The Sierra Nevada collaboration with Weihenstephaner is a great marzen/Oktoberfest.

Pure Tropics from Parish turned me on to IPAs last summer. Really enjoy Juicfer from Gnarly Barley, Ghost and Bloom from Parish and Holy Roller from Urban South. Had some great micro-brew IPAs on the West Coast a couple of weeks ago.

Where is Urban South located? I'm assuming a LA brewery?
