why they closed
why they closed
Dang I really liked Cajun Brewing wit and Helle’s. Their Hefeweizen was really good also. I will miss them.
Probably because a Cajun Brewing beer in most restaurants in town was $8+. At Pete’s it was like $9. Insanity.
I will say this though.. Cajun Wit was and will remain one my favorite beers of all time. That’s not hyperbole or local bias. That beer was outstanding.
You could buy a six pack for almost what they charged for a pint in a restaurant
Haven't spoken with any of the ownership in about a year but I'll give you my insight. They had a very nice and fairly large setup. When I toured the brewery I told them they had a problem and I said you aren't making enough beer with all this equipment. They said "yeah we know". The bottling line also reeked havoc on them at the outset.
Most importantly though I don't believe they ever got to the point of being able to brew enough commercially viable beer. They could run small batches for their in house operations but seemed to have issues scaling up for full production runs. It isn't a linear process and there is a reason that some of the best brewers have a degree in brewing sciences or chemical engineering.
Like I said though I don't know for certain what has caused them to close but they will be missed. Louisiana lags behind many other states in the brewing business and we can't afford to lose any of them.
Cajun Brewing (out of Lafayette) announced they will be shutting down.
Sorry...just seeing that someone else already posted that. I just saw on Facebook
Good beer. Good dudes. Hate to hear it.
For you guys that are juice bomb IPA fans. Parish's Pure Tropics is very good and I am not an IPA fan.
