We have one of the best pitching coaches in the country as our head coach for starters and 1/3 of rosters are made up of pitchers. More pitchers get drafted because it takes a lot more pitchers to field a team.

Wouldn’t that make 2/3 of rosters position players? I’m no math expert but that tells me it takes more position players to field a team.

What you have to consider is that there may be 2 players per position (field wise), with a couple utility players...there are 5 starting pitchers and even more relief pitchers...odds of making a team are best if you are a pitcher

13 pitchers used during 2018. Only 8 were mainly used. Williams, Cox, Leaumont, Armstrong, and Norman saw very little action.
