Sorry Mike, but its painfully obvious from your posts.
I don't think he is being negative. We've been down this road before. The reasons to want to see results before getting really hyped up shouldn't need to be stated. This should not be unexpected as a new coach and staff coming in will always see a nice bump in recruiting. The questions are can we sustain this recruiting by actually winning with it and keeping guys in our program which became a big issue for HUD in his final years. It doesn't do a lot of good if we can't win with the infusion of talent we have coming in and the problem is that this head coach is not proven in that capacity and we have no history to go by. In other words, taking a wait and see approach is not all that unexpected for some fans.

Back to 51. Also, 24/7 are the same rankings as Scout.

If I am glass half empty, that also means I am glass half full. As I said, I am encouraged.

I disagree that we’ve seen this before. Can we name a time when we’ve gone into Ruston, West Monroe, New Orleans, Baton Rouge and taken top 50 football players from Tulane, LaNech and LSU?

It’s never happened, let alone all in the same class.

Before I predict our potential, I want to see the product we put on the field. I hope to see a well conditioned team that makes few mistakes (no mistakes are impossible). I also wonder what the game day decision making approach will be. Sometimes the previous staff was overconfident (thinking we could stop ULM in OT and not going for two) while sometimes they were overly emotional. An example of that is throwing the ball on the last play of the half at LA Tech deep in your own territory resulting in a pick six. I have a feeling Coach Napier will stay poised on game day which will rub off on the team. That will help the 2020 recruiting efforts.
Generally speaking our seasons actually follow our recruiting predictions with some notable exceptions. Nobody thought any of Hud's classes of the last five years were great, and that pretty much played out. From an early prediction perspective I'll stick with highly sought players coached by outstanding team of coaches every time over a lowly regarded class coached by a stuffed shirt, and the remains of a once good staff.

The only caution I have is none of these highly regarded players has signed anything except some social media.

Never really looked at Guidry's tape, but holy cow, it looks like he is shot out of a cannon off the line of scrimmage.

This kid is going to create havoc in a Ron Roberts defense.

Rick, I've known Mike a number of years personally. He is cautiously optimistic with the new staff and I understand why. His first love is basketball and he's always states it on the forum. But make no mistake he also has season tickets in baseball and football, he is a Cajun supporter. He's all in on Napier and his staff, or he wouldn't have renewed his season tickets. I just think there is a larger picture that some people don't recognize as to what is going on with this staff and it should encourage all of us right now.

It is good to be relevant again in Louisiana High School recruiting. Good Louisiana High School prospects are carefully considering and even choosing to be Ragin Cajuns. We are no longer the last resort or a fall back for these guys. We are their first choice and they are choosing us over other comparable and even better offers all because they feel the energy and passion of this staff. Recruits see what Napier and the staff are trying to build here. We have given them a lot to sell and they are delivering. 14 three stars out of 16 commits. Are you kidding me? Something is definitely happening here!

Whenever UL is the clear leader over LTURds and Tulane....I'm a happy camper. Billy and staff have done a f'ing fantastic job in the perception war. Maggard's support....Love the billboards, stadium improvements in the works. Loving the #cULture campaign. Its an amazing time to be a Cajun......and we havn't played a down. This all happening after a disappointing baseball season is good medicine.
