We have 16 recruits with only an 82.19 average. If you go by pure average we are not close to the top 50.
just for some accuracy, Troy has 10 commitments listed on there team page, only 5 have been rated so far. the other 5 will most likely end up as 2 stars. which lowers their average by a good bit. I dont expect state average to stay as high either. its hard to keep a average that high this late in the recruiting season when your only showing 5 commitments.

If I put my left foot in a bucket of ice water and my right foot into a bucket of boiling water, on average i feel fine. The point is to be careful when looking at averages. As someone said with only 4 recruits the average can be greatly scewed. One guy with a rating of 100 (not even sure what that means) and 3 with a rating of 73 AVERAGES to 80.... Give it a while

Could care less about stars and averages. It seems like these kids are respectable talent and better talent than what we have been bringing in. Our coaches will coach develop these kids and make them better players.

As far as this thread goes, Football success is the most important aspect of your athletic program in this part of the world. The commitments we are getting COULD catapult us to success we have not seen in our history. They have to sign first before that can begin to happen and the earliest they can do that is 5 months from now. If they have senior year success, we may have to fight off major schools to retain them. That would not necessarily be a bad thing.
Mike...you really need to get your priorities in order...in case you didn’t know, it goes 1)UL...2) God...3)Family if there’s time...

Do you have an actual link? If you are on scout.com, anytime you click on FB recruiting or to see the list of teams, it goes to the 247 list.

EDIT: OK if you google scout recruiting rankings then it brings up the list showing 48 now, but when you click our team name, it goes to the 247 page which says we are 54 now (were 51 before.) The Scout list just has an error because it all feeds from 247 rankings. Either way, splitting hairs

Early in baseball season, I am still in basketball mode so I am not sure I would get season tickets even if my wife did not object. I hope to travel to some road basketball games moving forward. Also, with my son now writing for a Pelicans website, we are planning to make a few more trips to New Orleans for their games next season. If they are in the playoffs that goes until late April or early May. We also watch our grandchild quite often on weekends in the spring. However being retired will allow me to get to more baseball games in person going forward. Hope their bats make it worthwhile next season. Back to football-who is the next guy we can expect a commitment from? Seems we get a new one a few times per week lately.

I don’t think you guys can really grasp how good this class is. It starts with Chandler Fields, then look at the defense. Guys, we are going to sign an entire defense that may be more talented right now than anyone we have currently on the roster. These guys are monsters. Watch Spencer, Guidry, Hutchinson, Henderson and the other CB’s film. These cats are dominate.

Now go look at the Legendre kid, he is the most explosive athlete in LHSAA. He is unreal. The kid from N Desoto is ridiculous too.

We are talking about a class, that as it stands now, worst recruit would be our best signee in the last 5 years. Think about that.
This post encourages me more than any rankings. Apparently cajun4life has reviewed the film on these guys and likes what he sees. He knows a lot more about evaluating football players than I do so I am quite hopeful these guys can help turn the program around. We also have lots of guys we can now follow during their HS senior seasons and see if they have the years people project.
