We have 16 recruits with only an 82.19 average. If you go by pure average we are not close to the top 50.
Also please note that one of our lowest rated recruits (Ja’Braylon Spencer) we got over stAte. Personally I’d rather get a commit from a great local talent like that than miss out on him to a conference rival with a higher average.

Let us land the OL from U-High, the RB from Alabama, the RB from Westgate and Billy Sonnier. Land those 4 guys and sign all of our current commits and we will have signed the best class in Sun Belt history.

This is an epic G5 class. Not just for us, but we may have the #1 G5 signing class in the country. After a very solid class in ‘18.

Hold onto Napier and staff until 2022 and this program will be on a UCF, Houston and Memphis level.

We also have a commit from Jaden Henderson who Troy offered. His rating falls below their current average rating.

That's a marginal difference, let's see if they can maintain that average over an entire class. I doubt it.

"The industry-generated 247Sports Composite ranks Guidry as the No. 86 outside linebacker nationally for the 2019 recruiting cycle. He is ranked No. 41 overall regardless of position in the state of Louisiana for his class. However, the 247Sports rankings put Guidry higher in the Louisiana rankings at No. 34 overall in the state."

You are correct and very valid points. They still have ALOT of recruits to sign and maintain those averages though.

I do not think we will end up with the top G5 recruiting class this season, because of average player ratings.

However, stAte & Troy are going to end up closer to our average or below it and they are BOTH coming off much better season's than us. That is what is making this class so special to me.

Like I said, if success on the field is coupled with this success on the recruiting trail ... C'est tout !!! #cULture.

One clarification here. I do not have baseball season tickets as my wife threatened to divorce me whem we moved to Lafayette sixteen years ago if I got them. We had young kids at the time. However I make a few games every year and follow every game closely either online, on radio, or TV. As far as this thread goes, Football success is the most important aspect of your athletic program in this part of the world. The commitments we are getting COULD catapult us to success we have not seen in our history. They have to sign first before that can begin to happen and the earliest they can do that is 5 months from now. If they have senior year success, we may have to fight off major schools to retain them. That would not necessarily be a bad thing.

    Courtesy of Brad Paisley......

    Well I love her
And I love some Cajun baseball
I spend all day out on this Diamond
And sometimes its hard to watch
Today she met me at the door
Said I would have to choose
If I hit that ballpark today
She'd be packin' all her things
And she'd be gone by noon
    Well I'm gonna miss her
    When I get home
But right now I'm at the Tigue
And I'm sittin' in the sun
    I'm sure it'll hit me
When I walk through that door tonight
    That I'm gonna miss her
Oh, lookie there, We've got a run......

Whatever happens with P5 cherry picking, we WILL sign a majority 3-star recruiting class. We WILL sign more Top 100 LA players than laTech or Tulane. This WILL be the highest rated signing class in school history.

    This is just the beginning.
