I am with that. I am just a traditionalist, I like both sides to be the same. I hate the Steelers helmets or the Boise St. with the logo on one side and something else on the other. I find it tacky and trying to do to much.

I am like make it the same on both sides.

Current baseball uniforms we do not even have Ragin Cajuns on them. Straight up FDL hats, big Louisiana on the jersey. Whoever designed the baseball look I am with.

I feel the same way. However, we are trying to establish a brand and may need to do this to associate all 3 with the university. And, I prefer the smaller FDL, too.

Out curiosity...anyone have an idea on when the establishing a brand period ends?...I feel like I’ve been trapped in a time machine stuck in park regarding that topic...

I think we already have. We have the Ragin Cajuns logo on everything, our main logo is the Ragin Cajun logo. What we need to promote is the others that focus more on Louisiana. FDL does that, and establishes the Louisiana brand.

Red Ragin Cajun helmet as primary, and white FDL as our secondary helmets.

They almost had it right, take out those black fdl helmets, and replace it with the white fdl helmets with the red double strip and white face mask and that is it. That is your brand.

Throw in an Acadiana helmet or the script Cajuns helmet one time a year for homecoming, and auction them.

This might be the best idea to incorporate all three. I'm not a huge fan of a two-sided helmet but for our purposes now, it might be the best compromise. Again, we have a huge positive in having two very unique symbols, the FDL and Ragin Cajuns, and we need to use that uniqueness to our benefit.

That Acadiana Helmet peaks my interest. I’d love to see that

This is really a moot point as our helmets are not changing and the FDL will only be used a few times a year on special occasions
Absolutely wrong. FDL is recognized for many things, in many different places.

Now, all I am saying is that we rearrange the marketing hierarchy from

    1-Ragin Cajuns
    2-FDL
    3-Louisiana

    to

    1-Louisiana
    2-FDL
    3-Ragin Cajuns

If we are truly serious about wanting to be known as Louisiana there would be a general rule for all coaching staffs to wear only gear with Louisiana on it while on TV.
    You are incorrect.

Our brand emphaisis per Maggard is:

    1-Ragin Cajuns stacked logo
    2-Louisiana
    3-FDL

Best case against using it ^

    Whatever.

    1-Louisiana
    2-FDL
    3-Ragin Cajuns

This is how it SHOULD be.

I do realize this is a small sample size, but I work for a national distributor with sales people all over the country. Over the weekend I sent a group email out to 15 of my colleagues across the country, with a picture of a FDL. They were in the states of Wisconsin, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Texas, Ohio, Tennessee, New York, Kansas, Georgia, Florida, and Colorado. I asked if they new what that was and, 13 of 15 responded that's a Saints emblem. 2 called it a FDL. Only 3 of them new exactly what it was called. One called it a saints FDL and thought it was a symbol made by the saints. People outside our French heritage don't know the FDL.

I worked with a national company for years, and the folks on my team would be from all over the US. When I asked about UL, they almost always say 'the team with the ?????' logo, or something like that, because they couldn't say fleur de lis. But they knew what it was and that it was part of our logo. At least, the ones that I worked with that were sports fans.
