They had their struggles, too. We don't remember them that well because it wasn't personal. Took a couple years before everyone dropped Reno. Might take UL a little longer because LSU controls everything politically in this state.

People who are fans of unlv still call them UNR and Reno. Pretty sure they put Reno on the score board at home unlv games.

Do you think that concept is changing our name? No it does not, all it’s doing is representing a region. The Acadiana Flag look would look better than a Louisiana Flag concept, and it is a representation of Cajun Heritage.

Not everything has to be Louisiana. Just picture that helmet on our current uniforms, man you talking about slick. Wish I could do a mock up.

No it wouldn't change our name. But you answered your own question. It represents a region and we're trying to get away from being a regional or double directional school with the Louisiana branding. Would just be contradicting ourselves with that regional representation.

We are the Ragin Cajuns the Flag is a representation of Acadiana and Cajun Culture. We are in the heartland of Acadiana. It’s like saying the Baseball team should not have the Acadiana flag on the back of the hats, because it’s not Louisiana.

Not everything we do has to be Louisiana. Like saying we shouldn’t raise the Acadiana Flag at football games because it’s not representation of Louisiana. We shouldn’t call Cajun Field The Swamp because it’s not representation of Louisiana. Just South Louisiana and Acadiana is what The Swamp represents.

We might be over thinking the branding a little bit.

Don't look at digital media the univ has been putting out or the new signage around the practice field because it all has the Acadian flag on it.... It's embraing the Culture
