That's your opinion I think you are wrong. Ragin Cajuns is the most unique mascot in the country. No one sees a FDL and says "that's the ragin cajuns". Most people in the country that sees the FDL instantly think Saints. It is impossible to say you wouldn't be erasing 15 yrs of branding if you change the helmet you've had for 15 yrs. Its just a fact.

And we should leverage that. See how far we have got with the stack "Ragin Cajuns". People hardly wear it 20 miles outside of Lafayette. Most people love wearing the FDL! I think we should run with it.

It can be a money maker.

Outside of Lafayette it is a neutral symbol and likely to be worn by any school's alumni.

Copyright and sell, they don't know or care where it came from

No. I want them to see our logo, and say "That's Louisiana"

Ragin Cajuns is a nickname. It is not a logo, no matter how much some would like it to be that, and that makes it a terrible brand.

UL is a logo, but we can't use it legally. The FDL is our best option for a logo. LOUISIANA should be the only option for a brand.

Every second we spend pushing Ragin Cajuns is a waste of time.

It’s not a fact. It’s an opinion lol. Just cause you change something doesn’t mean you erase the history. It will still be there in the history books. Ragin Cajuns is indeed the most unique mascot. But it sucks as a helmet logo

Let's please quit putting stickers on the back of helmets.

Stickers are for 2nd graders and make helmets look ridiculous:

Now THAT is a helmet lineup that I could support.

    Out-freakin-standing!

I wonder why we never wore the red version with the white FDL from this pic. I would like to see the red helmet with this version of the white FDL only normal sized with the double white stripes.

You cannot trade mark the FDL. NFL tried and failed.

IMO everyone in the country knows the FDL as the Saints logo. Most people outside of the UL supporters see us as having an identity crisis. (I sort of agree as much as they change branding around the university) Outside of acadiana it would just lend more credence to our ID crisis. It would be said we are copying the saints.
