Completing passes between the hashes and having DBs within a yard of the man they are covering. Yes, I am easy to please.
I don't care about wins or losses this year. I want to see tailgating spots full of drunken Cajuns. I want to see a packed, enthusiastic student section. I want to see exciting, competitive football. I want this season to be the start of something special. Can you smell what the Nape is cooking??!!
One more thing. No more off the field issues.
I like to judge based on results on the field. Excitement is great but it doesn't ensure that a man can prepare a team for games and build a program. That is where his resume lacks. I know that we have to take chances on up and comers at our level. I get it and I'm encouraged and excited moving forward as well but I am not going to make a mistake of assuming certain results when the person we are judging cannot be judged based on lack of experience at the given position. Time will tell.
I think this could be a mirror image of the 2011 season when Hud first got here. He inherited more talent than given credit for and he infused that with a few direct impact guys. You know the rest and we won our first bowl game in my lifetime. I think the stage is similar although we don't have as much experience or talent on defense this time around but we have some offensive weapons.
I know most people are saying they don't expect a ton of wins but I think we have some wins in us and if we go something like 3 or 4 wins this season, I'll be disappointed. If Napier is that good, I think you could see a surprisingly decent year.
Don’t dismiss the kicking game . If Artigue is out , that is a tremendous blow !
