He clearly is visiting P5 programs during camps and already has an offer from Cincinnati, so exactly how serious is he when it comes to UL?

On my original statement I was going by the offers he had listed. Obviously if sec comes in, with an offer, that's totally different. The point I was trying to make in my original post was if Napier could beat AAC, and CUSA schools on a kid like this, it could be a game changer, in recruiting this area. It could totally change the perception. One thing we must remember is this kid didn't grow up a Cajun fan or in acadiana. His family just recently move from BR so no long term relationship at with our school.

I hear you, but before people get their blood pressure up, perhaps it would be nice to know what is the story on him and it could then be put in context. So his dad played for LSU, can anyone tell me with any certainty that the kid's dream program is not LSU? At this point, I could see Napier offering, but perhaps he's been told the kid is not interested. After all, they have done a good job of building relationships with Coach Cannon and the rest of the staff. And it is my understanding DL Coach Segrest's son is going to play at STM this fall. I'm just looking for some context.

My good friend has a couple of sons that went through TC, his youngest played JV last year. He was able to watch the kid from last year, that walked on, throughout his career, he also saw the sophomore projected started for this year. According to him the kid coming up throws a much better more accurate ball, than last years starter.

A good friend of mine whose son played at STM last season told me that Holstein wants to go to LSU and is hoping for an offer from them.

Unfortunately most kids from here do.

He probably needs to win the starting position at STM and do something there before he goes off to be an SEC QB.

Well he started last year at STM and threw for 1760 yards, 16 TDs and 5 ints. And rushed for another 5 TDs. As a sophomore.

He did not win the starting position outright at the high school he played last year. All I'm saying is that before you become an SEC QB, you should probably win the starting position at the high school you play. That may happen this coming year but it did not last year.

He shared time at QB at STM last year with a senior who got hurt. After that he was the full time starter. Barring something unforeseen he should be the starting QB at STM this upcoming season.

Thanks, my point exactly. He shared time last year with another that will not be playing QB at the collegiate level. All I was saying was that before you become an SEC QB, you probably ought to win out the starting position at the high school that you play. He did not do that last year. Then I said he will probably do that next year.

What is the problem with any of that? And further, why should anyone be fighting the actual facts on a message board of a school that it is said he is not interested?

Good question, no one has answered my question as to his actual interest in UL. I'm not making any judgments wherther or not he should be offered, but why some people seem to be actually upset with the fact that Coach Napier has not offered him. At this point, it doesn't matter which programs have offered him if he has no interest in UL. I'm going to give Coach Napier the benefit of the doubt on this one and let others debate it. But I've seen way more stranger things happen in recruiting than the fact that he has not been offered by UL. JMO

IMO as a salesman...never not approach a target bc someone says they’re not interested...I’ve had people tell me I’m wasting time, that business will never switch vendors....massage that relationship long enough and you’ll get their attention & potential work....should also state they must be worth it...
