State has some of the nation's best in Class of 2019.
Interesting in that:
1. Only 2 players are from Acadiana and both from Lafayette
2. 17 of the 25 are uncommitted, and
3. 4 of the 8 who are committed are to out of state schools (4 to La State)
4. Leaves open a great opportunity for Coach Napier to sign some top in-state talent
Man, that is a lot of uncommitted in the top 25. Hope Coach Napier and his staff see this and try to persuade them to come here. I would love to keep the locals here. Someday, UL might be the automatic choice.
That would be great to see Acadiana kids mulling offers from UL, LSU, Alabama, TX.....and chose UL.
There is a lack of North LA prospects on this list. In the 90’s and early 2000’s North LA had some powerhouse teams and elite prospects yearly. It’s interesting that this seems to have drifted southThe bulk of the top prospects in the state come from Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Southeast Louisiana.
This year may be an anomaly. Recruiting at U-High and Southern Lab has been at an all time high over the last 2-3 years. Those kids used to be distributed throughout the city, now they are all playing together.
32% of the 2019 being committed already seems like quite a bit to me, but with Fall signing date now, maybe that is more the norm now.
Thesse are the top recruits in close proximity to campus in the 2019 Class. Outside of Perry, I haven't followed these kids close to know SAT scores and which schools are leading, but UL hosted all of them for Junior Day and is on all of them.
