Glad I don’t know many of those people. Those who view that his goals are too lofty may not be true cajun fans.

If you want a large fan base then it’s gomna take all kinds..die hard, fair weather, casual, drunks, tailgaters, people who think you score runs in football...everybody.
The causal fan will be FOR the advancement of the program if they’re spending their money to be entertained by the program. I’m talking about the people you mentioned that want to keep things the way they are, keep the parking spot for free, show up 15 min before the game and play SLC teams so they can yell at their former classmates... “GO TO HELL McNeese!” 🙄 Give me a freaking break...

You are right, it does take all kinds. Perhaps you will remember that when saying what you did, because accepting someone with a different opinion than yours is not your cup of tea. Let me just say this, if a person is not contributing to this program financially at some level, then I really don't care to hear their opinion. If someone is contributing and has an opinion, I don't agree with them. And I can challenge them, just like you without bringing up some nonsense about them not being involved in the project.

Anyone here complaining about Maggard moving the program forward, paying for parking or not playing enough SLC teams? If there are people like this, I haven’t seen them on this board.

I think we have the best guy already in place...
Micky kicked SP out the draft room and hired Jeff Ireland to take that over.

So you think Loomis/Payton knew they'd be drafting Kamara and Lattimore after year 2 of 3 of their 7-9 string? I can see that preseason meeting: "hey we need one more 7-9 season so we can get Lattimore and Kamara to get back to the postseason." Part of the plan was to draft the future offensive and defensive rookies of the year? They knew the end game of their 3 straight no post season appearances? They knew they needed to be aggressive in offseason moves in order to not miss out for a 4th straight year. It paid off. Still no offseason moves coming from Reinhardt Drive.

What's the plan here big guy? Is the plan to keep having a year or two of regional appearances, then miss for 1 or 2, then make it back to a regional, miss for another year? Then maybe we catch fire and make it to a super regional again? It took 14 years to make it back to another super regional. Are we going to wait another 14 years again? Do we want to consider our program just another G5 program? Or do we want to be a national player?

It's been 18 years since Omaha. It was a lifetime ago and the game has changed. What makes you think we can get back there with Robe? Faith?

Disclaimer- I am not calling for Robe to be fired (although some will still twist it that way). I am not calling for annual trips to Omaha or super regionals. This is for an open and honest discussion about the current state of the baseball program and where the future is heading.

Those are getting less and less by the day, and they can want that all they want but free parking and showing up 15 minute before is no longer an option so they either show up and complain or they won’t but they aren’t gonna change. You can want advancement and still be happy with where things are and where they are headed. Enjoying the current state of things doesn’t Mean you don’t think things can be better or that you don’t want them to be. When you are talking thousands of people there will be a lot of differences and there isn’t anything wrong with that. A couple of old schoolers yearning for the old days does not represent the masses.

If you aren’t involved in the project how would one know that nothing is being done? Or that they (the people actually doing the work) “aren’t trying” ? This is a results business and so far, the current leadership is producing results. A century of neglect isn’t going to be fixed quickly and the facts are we are a have not of college athletics and we are trying to fix all these things in a down economy on a small
budget. Everything im seeing is we have more people that are working/trying harder than anyone ever has here...but to some that will never be enough or will never happen fast enough. Facility upgrades, salary increases, learfield deal, major upgrade coming to football etc..sounds like a lot of people working to get us where we want to be. I was very vocal about things not being done under previous leadership when things were clearly not getting done or being botched. I don’t see that currently under Maggard.

Just wondering if any G-5 or even lower P-5 has done facility wise what we have accomplished recently......track and soccer, baseball, da Dome, IPF, APC, softball.....think that conference is a drag and the LSU indoctrination syndrome, the off and on history of success, the oil industry’s fall off, and professional grad schools are the downers.....agree???

Mike, many of these people are still employed by the university.

My contact tells me you would not believe the friction T-Joe and Maggard still get from within.

There are still a few old guard naysayers hanging on.
