Then you are aware that the Diamond Club and the Quarter Club did not pay for airline tickets and motel rooms for supporters right? Neither reported such expenses.

Basketball does not pay for airline tickets. Only bus trips allowed for 5000 dollar donors. Football allows a 20000 dollar donor to accompany them on away trips involving flights. That includes flight on the charter, hotel, and game tickets It is was not reported, that means no one take advantage of that perk or donated that much. It used to be a perk for 10000 dollar donors and I know people who went on those trips. Perhaps raising the requirement level was a mistake.

What I'm saying Mike, is Clubs are generally there to address needs within the program. The perks you are discussing are generally not paid out of program clubs, but other accounts. I'm not suggesting such transactions are illegal, simply a concern when said coach is unwilling to raise money himself for certain needs within his program. Of course you and other supporters don't see a problem with it, but fundraising is a team activity and he must carry his load if he is going to expense such transactions.

Perks are offered to encourage folks to donate more. Simple business model. Nothing is given if you don’t donate. Like I said, QB club does the same. Requirement levels are fairly high in my view. I think they could get more if the QB club requirement for a trip was 5 grand while basketball bus trip should have it at 2 grand. Same thing with RCAF levels. They are considering dropping the level to park in Cajun Field to 100 dollars for example.

You are talking about rewarding program supporters and I'm discussing the lack of effort on the fundraising front by the head coach that is spending money on such perks while not being a team player and doing his part. Two entirely different matters.

OK. I support continuing to reward donors with minor perks as I think that helps the overall budget. It is a different matter than raising money in other ways.
