I've said it before but I do believe with both football and Men's basketball that there is negative recruiting for coaches who have short term contracts.
Marlin is a bit of an enigma. On the positive side he seems to bring out the best in his players from an academic and social perspective and produces young men of character. He has also produced some talent that has gone on to be productive in the professional ranks.
On the negative side it is hard to argue with his less than stellar performance against better competition.
With that said I have to believe Maggard has some kind of plan in place moving forward. Will be interesting to see the terms of that extension however.
Old news Goodman. This was done back in October 2018.
$550,000 base salary. $25,000 bonus awarded for regular season or conference championship. $20,000 for NCAA at-large appearance. $10,000 bonus for NIT at-large appearance.
$825,000 buyout if fired before March 31, 2019. Buyout decreases by $175,000 each year.
I'm indifferent about the extension. Looking forward to attending my first game of this season tomorrow. Not looking forward to the price of beer.
It’s almost like a conspiracy to kill attendance. Overpriced concessions, parking fees, non division I opponents multiple times a year. Just crazy.
Yep, it was tried for one game in a downpour that had about 2000 folks at the game. Since the attendance for the last few years has been roughly the same I can't say one game when attendance would have been poor made a difference in future lack of attendance due to a parking fee. Was it a good idea, no, but based on the current parking areas folks who don't pay for parking actually have better parking than previous years at no cost.
I'm in agreement on the overpriced concessions which is why I eat before I go, but since the University has no say in that pricing I don't think you can blame them for that.
