    Not sure but maybe free meals, transportation, medical, education, clothing, etc......again not sure of any of this but curious!!!

    I was speaking to this a month or so ago in another thread. Unless you're a top round pick (or get a bonus way above slot), going pro sucks. And it's why a lot of really good players are out of professional baseball in just a couple years. Unless you're fast tracking through the levels, some guys can't afford to be a professional baseball player.

    And the lifestyle is miserable.

    Unless you are a top pick in the draft, the only thing the vast majority of basebal draft picks get is an “opportunity”. But if you can’t make a relatively quick impression, most can’t afford to stick around very long and they won’t keep anyone around very long.

    $1300 for Low A $1500 at High A, a month during the season, only. You pay clubhouse dues out of that.
