For those who want an update on the season past, scheduling, recruiting, and future plans this was a very good interview by StevieP.

This staff is familiar with how the rpi works, so they will be scheduling towards that end. As for specifics, Baylor wants to continue the relationship, so, from what I heard, the Cajuns will be going to Waco for a tournament that will include Florida State. Gerry is looking for midweek games with SEC opponents, I would think Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Mississippi would be the most likely targets. Games against Southeastern, McNeese and possibly Nicholls could be included in the mix. Because of the Baylor tournament, Judi Garman is likely out of the picture.
Going to Baylor next season. We played Baylor on the west coast last season but playing them at Baylor will be more cost effective. And he hopes to build a relationship with them to have home and home in the future. He did not say anything about not playing on the west coast again, just that playing at Baylor is a less costly high RPI game.
Florida State coming here next season.
Coach emailed LSU earlier this year to see if they would be interested in a midweek game. Has not gotten a response but he said he thought they would eventually respond. He did add that he didn't have problem with playing there first but that he did not feel playing all games there would be appropriate (I don't remember his exact words but that's the gist).
Looking to play around 8 games this fall, some with Jr. colleges that have good programs. Didn't catch the name of the one he mentioned that is calling us to play this fall. They frequently make the playoffs.
His goal, and he feels like it is possible, is to approach 50 wins next season.
There will be some turnover in the roster. He expects the core group of players to return but some players will most likely transfer in order to get playing time. No names were mentioned. He understands that competitive athletes want to play and feels that some of the players on our roster could be contributing at other universities.
The FSU reliever last night had a fastball in the 70 mph range. She came in when the starter allowed two to reach base in the seventh, and I think is often a starter. Our young lady has a listed 64 mph fastball. I suspect she may reach a couple more miles with effectiveness. I don't recall what Brignac topped out at, but it was pretty fast, upper sixties or lower seventies as I recall.
As for her weight? I've never seen the weight listed on any softball player before, only height. This young woman will be hell on the batters in the circle if she can keep her mind as tough as Summer has.
I don't believe Brignac was close to the 70s. Maybe 66/67. I could be wrong!
