I never got numbers of the reported new deal he signed.
The last deal he signed that was reported was in 2015.
The new contract will pay Robichaux a base salary of $125,580 annually — a 4.7 percent increase from his previous salary — to go with a $60,000 signing bonus and incentives that could bump that figure up considerably.
Also included in the deal is a $30,000 annual figure for Robichaux’s participation in promotional radio programs, which Robichaux will receive in 60 monthly installments of $2,500.
Additionally, the school will deposit $30,000 in “an interest-bearing annuity on (Robichaux’s) behalf at the end of each year of the contract term,” according to the contract.
The deal isn’t official yet, but the school expects it to be finalized soon. Robichaux’s last contract, which he signed in 2010, paid him $120,000 annually and expired June 30.
Tony's new contract is for $200K per year from the University, and $30K per year for promotion & production from the RCAF (for radio/tv/promotional). There are also incentives for team success/educational standards met/coaches awards, and an additional $30K each year into an annuity for each year of the new five year contract. I should also have noted there is a $5K increase in base salary each year of the term starting after the first year completed.
Why? He earned it. If you brought your company unprecedented success not only at your job but in your industry would you not expect a Little benefit of the doubt? Especially when you proved yourself over and over for a quarter century? Or do you want some customer screaming for you to be fired because he didn’t get exactly what he wanted?
