The other sports you mentioned do not matter as much. They lose money, win or lose. I am all for giving those coaches an initial 5 year contract and seeing if they improved the program or not. If they didn't, move on to someone else. I am not for firing a women's basketball coach because they lost to Dillard. We then have to add additional cost to a money losing endeavor with no guarantee for improvement. Remember, not every disappointing/ losing season has to be met with swift punishment. I think you handle should change to the Grim Reaper.
Basketball has not sniffed a tournament win since George H. W. Bush was president I dont consider that a successfully program & for baseball if Robe keeps the same staff and has the same record you better believe his seat will be red hot

You can't ask these people to think rationally...they are comfy. They care not about wins and losses...it's all about how it makes them feel. Probably why Metry is a Tiger fan.

5 years phahah you don't have to spend a ton of money on Olympic sports get a young foreign guy on the cheap .. Heck STM has a better coach than Scot Wieland

As long as he can make it to Baton Rouge Saturday afternoon after he gets to park next the cajun field when we play Lamar he will be happy

Again, you are in the minority. No one in the UL administration wants Marlin or Robe to be fired. There is also no money to do it. Just because you want it means nothing to Maggard and Co. They are also probably happy with the WBB coach and volleyball coach. As the Grim Reaper of RP I think you should set your sites on the low hanging fruit like the soccer coach. Now that is an unsuccessful program.

I will be happy when we are not the 4th best football team in the state. I will also be happy when we leave the SBC. I want the same as all rational fans, a winning team who represents our university with class.

We have already fired that coach and replaced him with a top notch coach and staff. What's the beef there?

None. He alluded to me being happy about LSU and a close parking spot. I was informing him what would make me happy when it comes to football. It is probably best to put this thread to rest. Robe is in charge of our baseball program and will remain there for the foreseeable future. This does not mean people are satisfied with this years outcome, we are just entrusting a proven coach to right the ship.

I don’t want marlin or robe fired. But I do get frustrated when we have back to back seasons like baseball did. Then, when people criticize, they are told that Robe isn’t going anywhere because he’s been so successful and a good mentor. Hawk is talking about the people who act like regional appearances are great success. This ain’t football where 12-0 still has you left out of the playoff. Coastal proved it can be done. You have to make a regional to have a chance at a natty. Didn’t get there twice in a row. Accept the criticism, right the ship or feel the seat get hot. JMO.
